Thomas Gajewksi scored his first century with the club with 152no in the tops against Green Range on the weekend. This surpassed his previous high score of 89 in the 2nds last season. This is also the 3rd highest score in the tops, Brad Michaelides has the highest score with 171no in the tops in 1994/95. This was also the 2nd highest score at Bennett Park just behind Shane “X” Excel who scored 156no in the tops in 2004/05.
Lachie “Chunky” Ashton took 5/18 against Green Range in the tops, this is his 2nd 5 wicket haul for the club.
Alex Ninkov scored his first century for the club with 100no in the 3rds against Ascot, this surpassed his previous high score of 65 scored last season in the 4ths.
James “JC” Cornish, member of the clubs 25th Anniversary team, in his first game back at the club in 4 seasons, scored 68 runs in the 3rds playing alongside his son William Cornish in his first game. This was the 6th Father son combo to play in the same game for the club joining the Del Prete’s, Powell’s, Ballucci’s, Archer’s & Collison’s.
The 4ths 12 game winning streak extending from last season, came to a crashing holt against Ferndale in Rd 1 with an 8 wicket loss.
This season saw the 3rd most debutants in the first round of the season with 15 new players, the record is 20 players in 1990/91 with 20 (excluding the inaugural season of 1989/90).
