The 2nds beat Green Range for the 2 nd time this season this time by just 2 runs – with all those 2’s Richie would be happy! The previous game this season against Green Range resulted in a 1 run win for Scarborough!
Tommy “the Moth” Haines made his highest for the club with 85 runs in the 2nds. This surpasses his previous best of 78 runs achieved in 07/08.
With the thrill of the Vancouver Winter Olympics in the air Matty “Mr Cricket” Scales scored his 5 th duck in a row in the 2nds to score the Olympic Dream! The only other Scarborough players to achieve this feat are Matty Davis in 04/05 and Ian “Treacle” Jones in 07/08. If Mr Cricket manages 6 ducks in a row it will be referred to as “the Scaler” in honour of the great man!
Roger “Big Boy” Smith scored his first century for the club with 155 runs in the 3rds. This surpasses his highest score of 95 runs scored last season. This is the equal 6 th highest score for the club. Roger also managed 13 sixes in his innings which broke the record of 12 by Shane “Bag o Bones” Exell in 99/00 and Dave “Spanner” Spencer in 08/09. What made it even more interesting was - he batted at No 9! Rog loves terrorising Ascot with his last 4 scores being 56, 58, 55 and now 155 runs!
Roger “Big Boy” Smith and Steve “Tempo” Templeton put on 126 runs to break the 8th wicket partnership for not only the 3rds (held previously by Rog and Ross “Rossco” Terry with 78 runs in last years GF) but also the club record held jointly by Scott “Keg” Codyre and Tempo with 101 runs in the tops in 08/09 and Matty Davis and Dave “Cougar” Smith in the 2nds in 05/06.
The 4ths beat Mt Lawley by just 4 runs. With both teams batting nearly 60 overs each for 116 runs and 112 runs respectively it must have been a real slog fest!
With the 5ths victory via a forfeit last week, this has resulted in 5 wins in a weekend for the 1 st time this season and first since Rd 8 in 07/08! This is the 18 th time the club has won all games on the same weekend.

The tops need to win this weekend to avoid relegation back to 2nd Grade for the first time since 2004/05.
Matty “Mr Cricket” Scales played his first top side game for the club and took 2/61. He also managed a “pair” to take the lead in the duck trophy.
Adam “the Axe Murderer” Ballucci scored his third century this season in the 4ths and 5 th overall for the club with 111no. This is his 2 nd century in a row, the only other player to manage this feat was Dixie Joy in 2004/05 when he made 100no and 110no in successive weeks.
Dwaine “Danger” Miru took his first 5 wicket haul for the club with 5/35 in the 4ths.
The 5ths won 4 games in row which equalled their record achieved from Rd 2 to 5 2006/07.

Scott “Keg” Codyre played his last game for the club in the 5ths last week. Keg is retiring to the hills of Tasmania. His resume is pretty impressive reading – he played 97 games, making 3520 runs @ 37.05 including 6 centuries, taking 205 wickets @ 12.01 including 7 “5 fors”, PCA Player of the Season in 2001/02 and 2008/09, SMCC Player of the Season in 2002/03 and 2008/09, Premiership player in 2004/05 and 2008/09 & member of the Clubs 25 th Anniversary team announced in 2003.
Matty McDermott took his 5th 5 wicket haul for the club with 5/41 in the 2nds. He also backed this up with 3/9 in the 2nd innings.
Keith “Manure” Manea scored his first century for the club with 100 in the 3rds and this was achieved in his 92 nd game. This came after his previous 3 innings were all ducks!
Ross “Rossco” Terry and Keith “Manure” Manea put together 119 runs in the 3rds for the 5 th wicket which missed the partnership record of 147 runs which was achieved in 2005/06 with Daniel “SOC” Powell and Ross Fraser.
Adam “the Axe Murderer” Ballucci scored his second century this season in the 4ths and 4 th overall for the club with 105no.
Dave Barr took his first 5 wicket haul for the club with 5/29 in the 4ths.
Steve “Locky” Lockwood and Adam “Axe Murder” Ballucci made a partnership of 152 runs in the 4ths for the 4 th wicket which just missed the partnership record of 154 runs which was achieved in 2005/06 with James “JC” Cornish and Shane “Bag O Bones” Exell.
Col Williams and Brent Skufca made 86 runs in the 5ths for the 8 th wicket which broke the partnership record of 65 runs achieved in 2007/08 with Ross “Rossco” Terry and Josh Marmion.

Joel “Budge” Norman managed to score a diamond duck (ie run out without facing a ball) in the 2nds. The funny thing was it was off a no-ball and they were coming back for the 2nd run, so the score line read 1/2 off 0.0 overs!
Dixie Joy took 7/81 in the 3rds which is his 1st 5 wicket haul for the club.
Matt Scales took his Best Bowling figures for the club in the 4ths with 4/14 surpassing his previous best of 4/32 just before Christmas.

The club lost all 4 games on the weekend (5ths had a bye) which is the first time this has happened since Round 8 in 2005/06.

Danny “the Drunk” Archer played his 150th game for the club on the weekend in the 2nds – Danny was filling in as the 5ths had a bye.
The 2nds pulled off a miraculous victory against Green Range. After the Sharks compiled a very competitive score of 214 from their 40 overs, Green Range got within 3 runs of victory with 9 balls to spare and had 6 wickets in hand. Then the crap started running down the Green Range legs as they lost 4/0 in 5 balls and only scored 1 run off the remaining 4 balls to enable the mighty Sharks to win by just 1 run. Carlo Forbes bowled the tight last over and took 2/1.
The 4ths went down in a close finish by just 2 runs against Mt Lawley. After Mt Lawley made 186 the Sharks needed 8 runs from the last over, Steve “Locky” Lockwood hit the first ball for 4, then Adam “the Axe Murderer” Ballucci was run out after running into Locky. The remaining batsmen were then unable to get bat on ball leaving the Sharks just short.
Steve Lockwood despite remaining not out (once again) still does not come close to the clubs “not out King”. Mark “Junior” Senior has batted 195 times in 275 games for 90 not outs (46.15%)! For the record Locky has batted 441 times in 394 games for 69 not outs (15.65%).

The top side won their 1st game for the season and it was against Carlisle who were on top of the ladder and had lost just 1 game for the season so far!
Andrew “Billy” Billington played his 300 th game for the club on the weekend in the tops – Billy started with Doubleview back in 1988/89.
No one in the 3rds has scored a 50 in the first 7 games of the season. This is despite a 5-2 win/loss record, Tony “the Painter” Parkinson has the highest score with 48 runs.
Chrissy Gray took 6 catches in an innings for the 4ths on the weekend. This is the equal 2 nd best effort for the club with Ky Hansen taking 6 catches in the tops Grand Final of 94/95 and Vince “Sundries” Del Prete with 6 dismissals in the 3rds in 93/94. Vince “Sundries” Del Prete also holds the record with 7 dismissals in the 4ths in 98/99.
Stuart “The Bad Son of Dell” Connolly played his 100 th game for the club on the weekend in the 5ths – Spotty also played 119 games with the now defunct Northern Suburbs club and 5 games with Coolbinia WP.
Paul “Tatts” Connolly made his equal highest score for the club with 70 runs in the 5ths.
The 5ths were smashed to all parts of Empire Ave with the opposition making 5/479 in their allotted 40 overs. 5 bowlers bought up their half century. Phil “PJ” O’Neill was the pick of the bowlers with 2/89 off just 6 overs!

Rory Carson took 5/40 in the 2nds which his first 5 wicket haul for the club and beats his previous best bowling figures of 3/11.
Roger “Big Boy” Smith took his first 5 wicket haul this season with 7/52 in the 3rds. This is his 11th “5 wickets in an innings” for the club.
Adam “the Axe Murderer” Ballucci scored his 3rd century for the club with 106 in the 4ths.
Adam “the Axe Murderer” Ballucci and Chrissy Gray broke the 4ths 3 rd wicket partnership after scoring 168 runs. This surpassed the previous best of 137 runs with Troy “Banjo” Brown and Dave “Cougar” Smith in 2006/07. It was also just 15 runs short of the club record of 183 runs for the 3 rd wicket scored between Ken “ Kenny Dog” Collier and Chris Wood in 1994/95.

The 3rds ended their 11 game winning streak after being comprehensively beaten by Karrinyup on the weekend. Club record still stands with 13 wins by the 2nds from Rd 6 2007/08 to Rd 2 2008/09.
The 4ths had a tie against Ascot on the weekend, this is the clubs 11th tie in 1370 games and the 3rd tie for the 4ths. The previous 3 ties for the club involved the 2nds last season against Leederville, the 4ths tieing in the Grand final in 04/05 and then being awarded the premiership and finally the top side drawing with Mt Lawley back in 2003/04 in the infamous Troy “Banjo” Brown “I’m not going to take the winning run” game.
