Andrew “Akko” Atkins has now captained 2 teams to premierships (2nds 06/07 & 3rds 05/06) and has become the first player at SMCC to do so.

Andrew “Billy” Billington after victory in the 2nds has now won 3 premierships (2nds 06/07, 3rds 05/06 & 1sts 94/95) which is the most for SMCC.

Keith “Icky” Manea has played in a grand final each of his 5 seasons at the club and has now won 2 premierships (2nds 06/07 & 3rds 05/06).

Mark Steven scored his 2nd century for the club and 2nd this season in the 2nds making 111.  Mark is the first person to score a century in a final for Scarborough and in doing so surpassed the highest score in a final beating the old mark of 93 runs by Nick “Jamie” Butler in the grand final of 2004/05.

The brothers Steven, Mark and Troy hit 71 for the last wicket in the 2nds which was a 2nd team record for the 10th wicket passing the old mark of 66 runs by Haywood “H” Lewis and Craig “Sex God” Groth in 1999/00.

Greg “Grinners” Dimery scored his maiden century in the tops hitting 125.

Troy “Banjo” Brown scored his 3rd century for the club and 3rd this season in the 4ths making 110. Troy now joins Garry “Choco” Powell in scoring 3 centuries in the one season, Dixie Joy with 4 centuries still holds the club record. Troy has also still yet to register a “50” for the club!


Troy “Banjo” Brown was involved in his 4th century partnership for the 4ths this season after scoring 137 for the 3rd wicket with Dave “Cougar” Smith on the weekend.

The 5ths have made the finals for the first time in the history of the club.

Garry “Choco” Powell was the clubs leading run scorer this season with 637 runs at an ave of 42.47 (Record is Dixie Joy with 883 runs in 04/05)
Sammy “Mudguts” Ward was the clubs leading wicket taker this season with 37 wickets at an ave of 13.32 (Record is Sam “Mudguts” Ward with 49 wickets in 04/05)

Greg “Grinners” Dimmery took 5/41 in the tops which is his 1st “5 wickets in an innings” for the club.

The top side beat Carlisle’s top side for the first time since PMCA merged with MCA at the start of 97/98. Since that season we had lost 6 games in a row to Carlisle.

The 2nds have now won 7 games in a row and are only 1 win away from the record set in 92/93 of 8 wins in a row.

The 3rds had their 2nd 1 run victory for the season.  This also goes with their 4 run and 5 run victories earlier this season.

Roger “Big Fella” Smith took 5/27 in the 3rds which is his 4th “5 wickets in an innings” for the club and 2nd this season.

The 4ths winning margin of an Innings and 101 runs over Ferndale was the clubs 5th highest winning margin.  Club record is still an Innings and 238 runs in the tops in 94/95.

Mark “Junior” Senior took 5/22 in the 4ths which is his 18th “5 wickets in an innings” for the club.  He extends his club record to 18 “5 fors”.

Sam Ward took 6/21 in the tops which is his 14th “5 wickets in an innings” and his 2nd this season.

Bruce Towie scored his first century for the club in just his 12th game, he scored 111 runs in the 3rds. This is the 13th century for the Club this season which beats the old record of 12 centuries scored in 2004/05.

The partnership of 181 between Bruce Towie and Dixie Joy was a 3rd team record for the 2nd wicket beating the old mark of 164 set in 94/95 between Garry “Choco” Powell and David “Normie” Stoate.  It narrowly missed the club record for the 2nd wicket of 187 set in 95/96 between Adam “Quokka” Quinn and Steve Coyle.

Tom Haines had a tremendous debut for the club in the 5ths on the weekend scoring 47 runs and taking 6/32.  His bowling figures are now the club record best bowling on debut surpassing “Phil “Old man time” O’Neill who took 6/44 in his first game for Scarborough in 89/90.

The tops won their 5th “2 dayer” in a row this season.  They ars still behind the record set in in 91/92 when the tops won 8 “2 dayers” in a row.

Kane Davis scored his 1st century for the club in the 2nds, this was just his 16th game.  He scored exactly 100 runs.

Garry “Choco” Powell scored his 3rd century for the season with 129 on the weekend in the 4ths, he is now only 1 century behind Dixie Joy who has scored 4 in Season 04/05.  This is Garry’s 6th Century for the club which is a Scarborough MCC club record.

Mark “Junior” Senior took his 17th “5 wickets in an innings” in the 4ths with 6-13.  He extends his club record to 17 “5 fors”.

Cane Wright and Matty McDermott had a partnership of 156 runs for the last wicket in the 3rds.  This beat the previous club record of 87 runs by Paul Collier and Stan Strack in 89/90.  This was also a PCA and PMCA last wicket record stand.

Cain Wright scored a century with 103no in the 3rds, this was his first century for the club in just his 11th game.

Garry “Choco” Powell hit a century in the 4ths on the weekend by scoring 120.  This is Choco’s 4th century for the club.

Jamie Stephen took 7/36 in the 4ths which is 14th on the all time list for best bowling in an innings for the club.

Phil “PJ” O’Neill scored his 2nd highest ever score with 47no in the 5ths in his continuing club record 362nd game.

The tops continued their great Sunday record winning on the weekend, this makes it 11 wins from 14 games including the last 7 Sundays in a row. 

Daniel “SOC” Powell hit a century in just his 6th game for the club in the 3rds on the weekend by scoring 104no, it took his old man “Choco” nearly 150 games to hit first century for the club.  Apparently it was scored off just 60 balls!!

Ross “New boy” Fraser and Daniel “SOC” Powell had a record partnership of 147no runs for the 5th wicket in the 3rds beating the old record of 143 runs by – Peter “Slippery” Blanch and Andrew “Atko” Atkins last season.

Craig Allen scored a century in just his 3rd game for the club on the weekend in the 4ths.  His innings of 119 consisted of 11 fours and 10 sixes.  This was the 2nd most number of sixes in an innings behind Shane Exell’s 12 sixes scored in his 196 from 1999/00.
