Did you Know?

James Cornish scored a century in his just 2nd game for the club with 131, he also hit 9 sixes which is the 3rd most an innings behind Shane Exell who hit 12 sixes in his 196 in 99/00.  Shane did manage to hit 4 sixes in this same game.

James Cornish and Shane Exell hit the highest 4th wicket partnership for the 4ths on the weekend with 154 runs beating the previous record of Rob Cunningham and Ian Douglas of 152 in 90/91.

Banjo Brown and Bradley Wookie Kull were just 8 runs short of the 2nds team 10th wicket partnership with 58 runs.  The record is still held by Haywood Lewis and Craig Groth with 66 runs in 99/00.

Sam Ward has now captained the tops to 3 wins in a row in the absence of Shane Exell.

Jon Butler scored his first pair for the club in the 1sts on the weekend.

Chris Gray managed to score his second pair for the club in the 3rds on the weekend.

Steve Lockwood is the leading club run getter with 303 runs @ 43.29

Roger Smith is the leading club wicket taker with 24 wickets @ 11.25

Steve Florance is the club leading fielder with 14 dismissals

The Tops continued their great Sunday form and won their 10^th game from 13 attempts on the weekend.  Maybe they should play all their games on a Sunday!!!

2^nd's captain Bradley “Wookie” Kull unfortunately missed out on his Olympic Dream (5 ducks in a row) on the weekend by scoring 22not out.  Better luck next time!!.

Dwaine Miru missed his Audi Rings (4 ducks in a row) by hitting 26 not out to score his first runs for the club!!

Did you Know?
Jack Joy continued his great form this year and after being promoted to the tops scored his highest club score with 63 not out.

Paul “Tatts” Connolly batted beautifully to score a diamond duck (run out without facing a ball).

Sam “smashed all over the park” Ward conceded the most runs bowling for the club with figures of 3/151 off 28 overs.  Previously PJ O’Neill had gone for 123 off 18 overs in 99/00.

2^nds captain Bradley “Wookie” Kull picked up his Audi (4 ducks in a row) on the weekend with a pair.  His last 3 dismissals have all been LBW ( and all plum! ).

Mark “Jaws” Woods also managed his first pair for the club in the 2nds.

Andrew “Akko” Atkins had an unbelievable match in the 3rds.  He took 8/9 including a hat trick which was the clubs best bowling figures beating Scott “Keg” Codyre 8/18 in 03/04.  He is only the 4^th Scarborough player to collect a hat trick.  In the 2nd innings Andrew also took 6/15 to have match figures of 14/25 easily topping the previous best of 12/53 of Peter Humphries in 92/93.  And just for good measure Andrew also scored his second club ton with 101 runs.

Peter “Slippery” Blanch hit his first fifty for the club with 62 runs.

Andrew Atkins and Peter Blanch hit the highest 3rds 5^th wicket partnership with 142 runs beating the previous best of 105 runs with Steve Chapman and Steve Lockwood in 00/01.

The 4ths winning run of 5 games in a row came to abrupt halt on the weekend missing out on the best start to a season (best was 6 wins to start a season).

3rds have won both of the 1 dayers and lost outright both 2 dayers.

The 1sts got smashed for 391 runs the most runs scored by an opposition team.

The “4ths” are on target for the best start for a season with their 4^th  win a row on the weekend – best is 6 in a row to start season 93/94.

After 4 games this season “4ths” Captain Steve Lockwood slashed his batting average down to 80.50.

Dwaine Miru scored his 3^rd consecutive duck in the “4ths” on the weekend.  Dwaine is chasing Matty Davis’ Olympic Dream from last season with 5 ducks in a row!!

Matty Davis (in his 139^th club game) scored 60 not out in the “2nds” to beat his previous highest score of 52 runs scored yonks ago.

Matty Davis and David “the wizards sleeve” Smith put on a 2nds team and club record 8^th wicket Partnership of 101* runs.  Previous best was 86* by Peter Bourke and Ian Douglas in 1991/992 in the 4ths.

Dave Smith scored his highest score for the club and his first 50 with 52not out in the “2nds”.

The “4ths” are on target for the best start for a season with their 3^rd win a row on the weekend – best is 6 in a row to start season 93/94.

The “2nds” 2^nd innings score of 39 was the clubs 10^th overall lowest total.  It was “2nds” 2^nd lowest total – their lowest was 35 v Bayswater in 01/02.

Roger Smith with match figures of 10/36 in “Tops” on the weekend has now the 6^th best overall club match bowling figures.  Roger has taken 13 wickets at 3.76 so far this season.  His 1^st innings performance of 6/10 was also his best figures in 120 games for the club.

After 3 games this season “4ths” Captain Steve Lockwood has a batting average of 139 and has a healthy ‘not out’ or ‘red ink‘ average of 66.6%.

Well we are back for another season  Better limber up those aching muscles and get down to the first training session for the 2005/2006 Season.

Our first training run will be Thursday 8/9/05 from 4.45pm @ Bennett Park.  We hope to have our new television and antenna in place for that night so that we can watch the first session of the 5^th test with a few quiet ales.
