Did You Know?

Roger “Big Boy” Smith took 5/27 in the 2nds, this is his 7th “5 wicket in an innings” haul for the club and 3rd this season.

Micky “I’m getting married” Taylor took 5/39 in the 4ths, this is his 2nd “5 wicket in an innings” haul for the club and 1st this season.

The 2nds won their 11th game in a row, and have continued breaking the record of 8 wins in a row achieved in 92/93.

The 4ths team on the weekend was the most experienced premiership team for the club with an average age of 41.5 years and 126 games played!

The 2nds record in grand finals now stand at 3 wins from 6 appearances and the 4ths grand final record is now 4 wins from 6 appearances.

The 4ths made history by becoming the first Scarborough team to win a premiership from 4th on the ladder.

Garry “Chocko” Powell played in his club record 8th grand final with Steve “Locky” Lockwood 2nd in line after making his 7th Grand Final appearance to equal Haywood “H” Lewis also with 7.  Keith Manea has played in a grand final every year since joining the club in 02/03 with a record of 3 premiership wins and 3 losses!!

Keith Manea, Andrew “Atko” Atkins and Steve “Locky: Lockwood have now joined Andrew “Billy” Billington as the premiership leaders for Scarborough with 3 each.

There were plenty of premierships droughts broken over the weekend with club stalwarts Garry “Choco” Powell having played 206 games since his last premiership and Chris Gray 199 games.  Choco narrowly passed Mark “Bero” Berich’s record of 205 games between premierships.  Roger “Big Boy” Smith 163 games and Joel “El presidento” Norman 155 games both played in their first premierships for the club.  Big Boy narrowly missed Adam “Quokka” Quinn’s record of 164 games before his first premiership!!

Mark “Junior” Senior continues to hold the records of 230 games since his last premiership, which was in 91/92.  Mark “Jaws” Woods holds the record of 177 games without ever winning a premiership.

James "JC" Cornish finished as the club leading run scorer in finals with 95 runs (record was 145 with Chris Wood in 93/94).

Ian “I really can bat” Jones was the club leading wicket taker in finals with 13 wickets (record was 15 with Dave “Huge Arse” Hughes in 01/02).

Garry “Choco” Powell was the clubs leading fielder in finals with 6 dismissals (record was 9 also with Garry “Choco” Powell in 90/91)

Ian “I really can bat” Jones finished as the clubs leading all rounder in the finals with 154 points (record is 210 with Rob McCready in 90/91).
